Whenever I scroll through Programming-related articles or videos, I see this title: “Learn JavaScript in 1 Hour”. It’s always JavaScript or Python, I don’t know why. It is easy to have the same videos for many other languages if they are not as fundamental as Java or C.

So if you considered shifting to coding after seeing things like that, let me think out loud about it with you first.

Did you ever code before?

These videos would work or not, depending on your level. If you have zero knowledge about coding, I am sure it might be beneficial but it will not work in one hour. Simply because you can’t learn to code without trying. So even if you wanted to learn what was mentioned in the video — only —, you have to try it. You have to open a notepad and just try running the same code. So the examples alone will take longer to apply.

Do you know anything about programming fundamentals?

Also, coding depends on a lot of fundamentals that are easy to understand but hard to understand in one hour! Fundamentals are as easy as the idea of input, output, and the algorithm are not as simple as we think to beginners. Also data, storage, speed, and everything that experts find easy…
